AMC has revealed the episode title for The Walking Dead’s season eight premiere – and it’s an intriguing one.
In a season that will undoubtedly feature plenty of violence, death and mayhem, it looks like there may be room for mercy.
Yes, The Walking Dead Season 7 Premiere is titled ‘Mercy’, and comes with the synopsis: “Rick and his group, along with the Kingdom and Hilltop, have banded together to bring the fight to Negan and the Saviors.”
In the season seven finale, Rick (played by Andrew Lincoln) promised that he would take down Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and his group the Saviors.
And following the dramatic final instalment, fans have been desperate to see how he will defeat the super villain.
The episode synopsis is in line with the full Season 8 synopsis. “This season, Rick brings ‘All Out War’ to Negan and his forces,” a portion of the Season 8 synopsis reads. “The Saviors are larger, better-equipped, and ruthless — but Rick and the unified communities are fighting for the promise of a brighter future. The battle lines are drawn as they launch into a kinetic, action-packed offensive.”
Could Rick and Negan show each other mercy? It seems unlikely, given that the whole season will be about the All Out War between them.
Meanwhile actor Andrew stated that the show is going back to its glory days after fans watched the Alexandrians deal with the heartbreaking deaths of Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) and Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz).
Executive producer Greg Nicotero directs the Season 8 premiere of The Walking Dead.
The Walking Dead launches its eighth season on October 22 on AMC in the US. It will air on FOX in the UK.
